World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Members' area

How we work

Every three years the work of the Europe Region is discussed by our Member Organizations at the European Guide Conference.   A new operational plan, outlining the priorities of the Region, is approved and a new Committee, supported by the Europe Office, is elected to carry out the work of the plan.   Click here to meet the Europe Committee WAGGGS and the staff of the Europe Office.

To help the Europe Committee and the Europe Office develop Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting in the Region, three different volunteer groups have been established.  Each group has a particular focus and will either lead stategy and/or support the implementation.
The purpose of the Membership Group is to assist in the development of a strategy to support Associations who wish to see quality and quantity growth of membership. The focus of the group will be in line with the priorities shown at the 12th European Guide Conference and will include the Rover/Ranger section and the development of adult leadership recruitment and retention as well as exchange of best practice. The group will also look at trends, both internal and external and try to support associations in being able to use such data to assist in their development.
The purpose of the Resources Pool is to be a comprehensive pool of experts able to support and deliver practical assistance to Associations in the areas of Educational Programme, Training, Structure and Management, Membership, Communications, External Relations and Finance or other identified areas of need.
The support and assistance will be delivered through the various tasks and duties that the Resources Pool will be assigned for by the Europe Committee WAGGGS.

Advocacy Group
As part of the vision of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to be “a growing worldwide movement – the voice of girls and young women who influence issues they care about and build a better world”, the Europe Region WAGGGS co-operates with the European Institutions and a number of International Non-Governmental Organizations working on youth, women’s and health issues.
The purpose of the Advocacy Group is to support the work of the region in this area.
