What We Do

Each year, the Europe Region WAGGGS organizes a number of activities based on the Operational Plan approved by the European Guide Conference. Find out below the different activities organized by the Region.
Seminars and Training Events
Each year, the Europe Region organizes a number of seminars, workshops or tailored events. These trainings are designed to help the general development of Associations on issues like membership, leaders’ training, or to provide specific strategic support. They are a place where Associations can exchange experiences and develop partnerships to help their future work. Some events are also planned jointly with the European Scout Region.
Events for Young People
We also organize events for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in the Europe Region.
eurolife.02 was an event (the 2nd of its kind) for 14-18 year olds which took place in 6 centres across Europe in July 2006 - over 600 Girl Guides and Girl Scouts had the chance to meet new friends, experience challenge and adventure, use new technology, and learn about the rights and responsibilities of being a young person in Europe today.
Rangers and Rovers belonging to the Europe Region WAGGGS and the European Scout Region were able to "dare to share" at Roverway2006- a European camp hosted by the Federazione Italiano Dello Scautismo for up to 5000 Scouts and Guides in Italy in August 2006. Through workshops, round table discussions, physical adventure and mental challenges designed to deepen their knowledge and understanding of different cultures and traditions, they dared to become engaged and responsible citizens, who want to share this world, and contribute to building a better world for everyone.
Preparations for the 3rd edition of Roverway (Roverway 2009 in Iceland) is now well under way. Regular updates will be issued in Europak and there is already a website available with plenty of news and information.

Publications
The Europe Region has produced a number of documents for Associations to help their development. Tool-kits containing information and practical advice have been produced on a variety of subjects such as Educational Programme and Training, Recruitment and Retention, and Including Young People with Disabilities. We have produced guidelines on partnerships and a Charter on Gender for Associations. Click here to find out what resources are available from the Europe Region.

At the 12th European Guide Conference Member Organizations voted to hold a third eurolife event in the triennium 2007 – 2010.
Rather than hold eurolife during the summer months, we have decided to challenge our traditional ideas about events and hold it in the winter period. Specifically, eurolife will be held between the Christmas and New Year period of 2009 – 2010. The exact dates will be agreed in consultation with all the hosting centers but are likely to be around the 27 December 2009 – 3 January 2010.
